MAGE was a real-world study investigating patient satisfaction in patients with T2D receiving&nbsp;Toujeo®.
There was an improvement of at least 2 points in DTSQ score at Month 6 from baseline, meeting the primary endpoint of the study.2
MAGE was a 6-month, multicentre, prospective, single-arm, observational, real-world study (conducted in Belgium) following 87 people with T2D who had been receiving basal and mealtime insulin for&nbsp;≥6 months.
Primary endpoint: change in DTSQ total score (baseline to Month 6).2
DTSQ: Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire.

Patient satisfaction with Toujeo (insulin glargine 300 Units/mL) in adults with T2D

<h3>Treatment persistence3</h3>
Toujeo® (insulin glargine 300 Units/mL) was associated with better treatment persistence compared with insulin glargine 100 U/mL or insulin detemir in people with T2D.
The treatment persistence and hospitalisation retrospective analysis identified 181,263 people with T2D, newly treated with insulin in 2016-2017. The study used prescription claims data from the Système National des Données de Santé, a French administrative healthcare database.3
Persistence was defined as remaining on any basal insulin or on the same insulin without discontinuation from the index date to the last prescription. A therapy was deemed discontinued when it was interrupted for a period of 6 months.3

<h3>Hospitalisation3</h3>
Overall, a low number of episodes of hospitalised hypoglycaemia‡&nbsp;were observed in this study regardless of treatment.
The treatment persistence and hospitalisation retrospective analysis identified 181,263&nbsp;people with T2D, newly treated with insulin in 2016-2017. The study used prescription claims data from the Système National des Données de Santé, a French administrative healthcare database.3

<h3>Addition of Toujeo® to GLP-1 RA was associated with significantly improved glycaemic control.9</h3>
DELIVER-G real-world retrospective analysis.
A real-world retrospective analysis in insulin-naïve adults with T2D inadequately controlled on GLP‑1 RA with or without oral antidiabetic drugs (N=271).9
DELIVER-G was a retrospective analysis of 271 people with Type 2 diabetes receiving GLP‑1 RA therapy who were insulin‑naive prior to subsequent treatment intensification with Toujeo® (insulin glargine 300 U/mL). DELIVER‑G analysed data from a large US electronic medical record data source (IBM® Explorys).9

<h3>Toujeo® versus degludec 100 U/mL in people with T1DM8</h3>
One Care study8
The first real-world study to compare 2nd-generation basal insulin analogues, Toujeo® and degludec 100 U/mL, in people with T1DM, using continuous glucose monitoring.8
The primary endpoint of the One Care study was effectiveness of Toujeo® versus insulin degludec 100 U/mL in terms of percentage of time in the predetermined glucose range (70-180 mg/dL). Time in range over the course of a full day was similar in both groups (52.4% for those receiving Toujeo® versus 49.3% for the insulin degludec group. At night the time in range was significantly higher in the Toujeo® group (52.4% versus 46.2%, p=0.0209).8
One Care was an observational, retrospective cohort, cross‑sectional, multicentre study of continuous glucose monitoring data in 199 adults with T1DM in Spain comparing the effectiveness (using percentage of time‑in‑range 70‑180 mg/dL over 14 consecutive days within a 4‑week period) and safety of Toujeo® (insulin glargine 300 units/mL) versus degludec using continuous glucose monitoring in routine clinical practice.8

Limitations of the One Care study:8

 <li>The degludec 100 U/mL group presented a more severe course of disease (higher rates of retinopathy) compared with the Toujeo® group</li>

Praluent®&nbsp;can be injected subcutaneously into the thigh, abdomen or upper arm. Patients should rotate the injection site with each injection.1
<h2>Ease of use assessed as ≥9.8 out of 10 in all assessments for both devices*2</h2>

*Study of 69 patients who randomly received unsupervised, self-administered alirocumab 300 mg via 1 x 300 mg injection with the SYDNEY device (n=35) or 2 x 150 mg injections with the currently approved auto-injector (n=34). Possible answers ranged from 1 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied).

 <li>PRALUENT®&nbsp;can be kept outside a refrigerator below 25°C and protected from light for a single period not exceeding 30 days</li>
 <li>After removal from the refrigerator, the medicinal product must be used within 30 days or discarded.</li>

Although many patients requiring lipid lowering therapies are not experienced with self-injected medication, in a real world study, results indicated that the pre-filled pen was well-accepted by patients.6

 The usual starting dose for PRALUENT®&nbsp;is 75 mg administered subcutaneously once every 2 weeks. Patients requiring larger LDL-C reduction (&gt;60%) may be started on 150 mg once every 2 weeks, or 300 mg once every 4 weeks (monthly), administered subcutaneously. The dose of PRALUENT®&nbsp;can be individualised based on patient characteristics such as baseline LDL-C level, goal of therapy, and response. Lipid levels can be assessed 4 to 8 weeks after treatment initiation or titration, and dose adjusted accordingly (up-titration or down-titration). If additional LDL-C reduction is needed in patients treated with 75 mg once every 2 weeks or 300 mg once every 4 weeks (monthly), the dosage may be adjusted to the maximum dosage of 150 mg once every 2 weeks. If a dose is missed, the patient should administer the injection as soon as possible and thereafter resume treatment on the original schedule.</td>
