Indication

QFITLIA is a an antithrombin-directed small interfering ribonucleic acid (siRNA) indicated for routine prophylaxis to prevent or reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes in adult and adolescent patients aged 12 years and older with hemophilia A or B with or without factor VIII or IX inhibitors.

Important Safety Information

What is the most important information I need to know about QFITLIA?

QFITLIA increases the potential for your blood to clot. Carefully follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding when to use an on-demand bypassing agent (BPA) or clotting factor concentrate (CFC) and the recommended dose, and schedule to use for breakthrough bleed management.

QFITLIA can cause serious side effects, including:    

  • Blood clots (thrombotic events). Blood clots may form in blood vessels in your arm, leg, lung, heart or head. Get medical help right away if you experience any of these signs or symptoms of blood clots during or after treatment with QFITLIA.    
  • Swelling, pain or redness in arms or legs    
  • coughing up blood    
  • shortness of breath    
  • chest pain or tightness    
  • fast heart rate    
  • feeling faint or passing out    
  • severe or persistent headache    
  • difficulty speaking or understanding language    
  • numbness or weakness in your face, arms, or legs    
  • loss of vision, changes in vision, eye pain or swelling    
  • Elevated liver enzymes. QFITLIA may cause your liver enzymes to be elevated. Your liver function tests will be monitored by your healthcare provider.

Your healthcare provider will measure antithrombin (AT) activity levels using a specific blood test to determine the appropriate dose for you after starting QFITLIA treatment and at yearly routine visits thereafter.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before using QFITLIA?

Before receiving QFITLIA, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you: are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if QFITLIA may harm your unborn baby. Females who are able to become pregnant should discuss non-hormonal birth control (contraception) options with their healthcare provider and start use before treatment with QFITLIA. are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if QFITLIA passes into your breast milk.

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Keep a list of them to show your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine.

What are the possible side effects of QFITLIA?

The most common side effects of QFITLIA include: 

  • Redness, tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, bruising, bleeding, skin changes, rash or itching at the site of injection    
  • Increase in liver enzyme levels (alanine aminotransferase)
