What Is Time-in-Range?

While HbA1c is the gold standard for measuring glycemic control, it has some limitations that need to be addressed, therefore; there is a need for metrics beyond glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) to provide a more comprehensive picture of a patient's glycemic status. Time-in-range (TIR) is an intuitive way of presenting glycemic data, and it simply refers to the time a patient's glucose level remains in a target range (70–180 mg/dL).
TIR is unified and recognized by the ATTD CGM consensus, referenced in the ADA, and included in AACE guidelines. Watch the video to learn about insights from Prof. Tadej Battelino on the value of time-in-range as a glycemic biomarker.

Summary of SAGE study on Adults with T1DM

The global observational Study of Adults' GlycEmia (SAGE) examined glycemic control and diabetes management in 3,903 adults with T1DM of different age groups across 17 countries.
